The typical family spends $1,300 annually to heat and cool their residence and operate energy consuming appliances. In some months this cost can approach the size of the mortgage payment. Our homes and businesses are our largest investments and we rarely know how much the needed energy will cost us over the life of the building. The more energy efficient and environmentally sound our buildings are, the healthier our personal finances, our businesses, the economy, and the environment will be.
