Ethanol and Unleaded Gasoline Average Rack Prices

As of September 2007, the rack price of ethanol was $1.93 versus $2.30 for unleaded gasoline--a difference of 37 cents per gallon.  The ethanol rack price was 50 cents lower compared to the price in August and 40 cents lower than a year ago.  New ethanol production capacity has been depressing prices.  Prices are expected to stay low in coming months.  Unleaded gasoline's average rack price was three cents lower than the price in August but 60 cents higher than a year ago.
