Ethanol and Unleaded Gasoline Average Rack Prices

As of September 2006, the rack price of ethanol was $2.33 versus $1.70 for unleaded gasoline--a difference of 63 cents per gallon.  Unleaded gasoline's average rack price in September was 23 percent lower than a year ago.  The ethanol rack price was 39 cents lower in September compared to the price in August, after declines of 42 cents in August and 44 cents in July, possibly due to supply catching up with demand.
