Ethanol and Unleaded Gasoline Average Rack Prices

As of August 2006, the rack price of ethanol was $2.72 versus $2.31 for unleaded gasoline--a difference of 41 cents per gallon.  Unleaded gasoline's average rack price in August was 16 percent higher than a year ago.  The ethanol rack price was 42 cents lower in August compared to the price in July, after a drop of 44 cents in July from June, possibly due to supply catching up with demand.
