Ethanol and Unleaded Gasoline Average Rack Prices

As of April 2006, the rack price of ethanol was $2.45 versus $2.22 for unleaded gasoline--a difference of 23 cents per gallon.  The ethanol rack price in April more than doubled the price in April of last year.  Unleaded gasoline's rack price was 35 percent higher than a year ago.  Unleaded gasoline's price increase of 30 cents in April was considered to be due to a number of refineries undergoing maintenance during the month.
