States Shipping Coal to Nebraska in 2003

In 2003, 98.9% of the coal transported to Nebraska for electricity generation, industrial plants, and the residential and commercial sectors came from Wyoming.  Nebraska's entire coal supply was imported domestically by railroad.  All of the coal was subbituminous with the exception of the amount shipped from Pennsylvania (15,000 short tons in 2003) which was anthracite coal.
