Refineries in the nation are operating at 79.1% capacity. Gasoline: Midwest production is
2,220 thousand barrels per day--an increase of 2.8% from last
week. Diesel:
Midwest production is 710 thousand barrels per day--a decrease of 0.4% (3,000 barrels per day) from last week. Heating Oil: Midwest production is 217 thousand barrels per
day--an increase of 21% from last week. Propane: Midwest production is 189
thousand barrels per day--a decrease of 4.1% from last week. |

Gasoline: Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 51 million barrels--0.2% (or 100,000 barrels) more than last week's inventory level but 2.7% less than last month's level with inventory levels in the normal range. The Energy Information Administration maintains a benchmark for national stocks at 200 million barrels. As of October 14, the national stock level is 195.7 million barrels. Diesel: Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 18.7 million barrels--7.9% less than last week's inventory level and 14% less than last month's level with distillate inventory levels below the normal range. Heating Oil: Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 6.7 million barrels--4.3% less than last week's inventory level and 5.6% less than last month's level with distillate inventory levels below the normal range. Propane: Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 23.8 million barrels--0.8% (200,000 barrels) less than last week's inventory level and 2.9% less than last month's level with inventory levels in the normal range. As of October 14, the national inventory level is 67.5 million barrels. Natural Gas: The East Region's inventory, of which Nebraska is a part, is 1,819 billion cubic feet--2.5% more than last week and 19 billion cubic feet above the 5-year average. For the week ending October 14, the national inventory level is 3,062 billion cubic feet. Close to 3 trillion cubic feet by the end of October is generally considered to be adequate for winter demand. |
