Gasoline:   Midwest production is 2,036 thousand barrels per day--a decrease of 3.4% from last week.

Diesel:  Midwest production is 754 thousand barrels per day--an increase of 10.2% from last week.

Heating Oil:  Midwest production is 197 thousand barrels per day--a decrease of 31% from last week.

Supply
As of April 30, 2004

Gasoline:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 49.9 million barrels--0.2% (or 100,000 barrels) lower than last week's inventory and 2.9% lower than last month's level with inventory levels in the normal range.  The Energy Information Administration maintains a benchmark for national stocks at 200 million barrels.  As of April 30, the national stock level is 204 million barrels.

Diesel:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 21.1 million barrels--13.4% higher than last week's inventory with distillate inventory levels returning to the normal range.

Heating Oil:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 8.1 million barrels--3.9% higher than last week's inventory level and 29% higher than last month's level with distillate inventory levels returning to the normal range.

Propane:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 12 million barrels--9.1% higher than last week's inventory level and 24% higher than last month's level with inventory levels in the normal range.  As of April 30, the national inventory level is 31.2 million barrels.  Industry observers believe a 60-million-barrel level for national inventory is adequate prior to the start of the heating season.

Natural Gas:  The East Region's inventory, of which Nebraska is a part, is 569 billion cubic feet--7.2% more than last week and 41 billion cubic feet or 6.7% below the 5-year average.  As of April 30, the national inventory level is 1,227 billion cubic feet.  Close to 3 trillion cubic feet is generally considered to be adequate for winter demand.  This would require an injection of 1.7 trillion cubic feet between now and the end of October.
