Gasoline:   Midwest production is 2,108 thousand barrels per day--an increase of 2.5% from last week.

Diesel:  Midwest production is 684 thousand barrels per day--an increase of 2.6% from last week.

Supply
As of April 23, 2004

Gasoline:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 50 million barrels--5% higher than last week's inventory but 4.8% lower than last month's level with inventory levels returning to the normal range.  The Energy Information Administration maintains a benchmark for national stocks at 200 million barrels.  As of April 23, the national stock level is 200 million barrels.

Diesel:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 18.6 million barrels--1.1% lower than last week's inventory with distillate inventory levels below the normal range.

Heating Oil:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 7.8 million barrels--5.4% higher than last week's inventory level and 26% higher than last month's level with distillate inventory levels below the normal range.

Propane:   Midwest inventory (or PADD II) is 11 million barrels--2.8% higher than last week's inventory level and 12.2% higher than last month's level with inventory levels in the normal range.  As of April 23, the national inventory level is 29.1 million barrels.  Industry observers believe a 60-million-barrel level for national inventory is adequate prior to the start of the heating season.

Natural Gas:  The East Region's inventory, of which Nebraska is a part, is 531 billion cubic feet--9.9% more than last week and 41 billion cubic feet or 7.2% below the 5-year average.  As of April 23, the national inventory level is 1,155 billion cubic feet.  Close to 3 trillion cubic feet is generally considered to be adequate for winter demand.  This would require an injection of 1.8 trillion cubic feet between now and the end of October.
