Nebraska Gasoline and Diesel Prices

Nebraska's weekly average gasoline price increased 13 cents per gallon from last week to $2.91, which was almost a dollar higher than the price at this time last year.  Weekly average prices in the surveyed cities ranged from $2.84 in Columbus to $2.98 in Lincoln.  As of September 30, the Midwest gasoline stock level was in the normal range with 50.9 million barrels.

Nebraska's diesel average leaped 28 cents per gallon from last week reaching $3.08.  According to the weekly price report, this week's state average was $1.06 higher than the price at this time last year.  Weekly average prices in the surveyed cities ranged from $2.98 in Columbus to $3.18 in Kearney.  On the supply side, the Midwest distillate fuel inventory level was below the normal range with 20.2 million barrels of diesel fuel as of September 30.  Increased gasoline imports have been partially offsetting lost supply due to refinery outages, but diesel inventories have not had a similar increase in imports.  With an increase in demand, especially in the agricultural sector, diesel inventories have fallen over the last two weeks.
