Nebraska Gasoline and Diesel Prices


The largest regional price increase from last week was in the Midwest with an increase of 4.9 cents per gallon.  Nebraska's retail gasoline price increased 4 cents from last week to $2.11 with metro prices ranging from $2.07 in Columbus and Norfolk to $2.11 in North Platte and Omaha.  This week's state average was 10 cents higher than the price at this time last year.  According to the Energy Information Administration, this week's increase may not be indicative of what to expect over the rest of the summer.  Retail prices may stabilize and even fall slightly in July and into August.  As of June 3, the Midwest gasoline stock level was above the normal range with 53.3 million barrels.

The state average retail diesel price rose 6 cents from last week to $2.24 per gallon with metro prices ranging from $2.21 in Norfolk to $2.27 in Kearney.  According to the weekly price report, this week's state average is 46 cents higher than the price at this time last year.  The Midwest distillate fuel inventory level was in the normal range as of June 3.
