Ethanol Production by State

Nebraska has the third largest ethanol production capacity in the country, based on the latest federal figures.  As of December 2005, Nebraska has the capacity to produce 771.5 million gallons of ethanol, which is 13 percent of the nation's capacity of 5.9 billion gallons.  Iowa has the largest production capacity (1,699.5 million gallons which is 29 percent of the nation's total), and Georgia has the smallest production capacity (0.4 million gallons).
