Natural Gas Service Providers and
Their Prices in Nebraska


In 2008, the residential sector paid an average of $11.11 (including taxes) per thousand cubic feet for natural gas, the commercial sector paid $9.62, and the industrial sector paid $9.12.  The electric power sector average price was withheld.

The state's natural gas was supplied by nineteen companies whose average 2008 residential rates ranged from Hastings Utilities' $7.19 to the Stuart Gas Company's $13.42 per thousand cubic feet.  Commercial rates ranged from City of Wisner's $5.94 to the City of Stromsburg's $13.61.  Rates for natural gas used by electric utilities ranged from Stuart Gas Company's $4.10 to Nebraska City Utilities' $10.89.  Industrial rates ranged from the Black Hills Energy's $8.08 to the City of Falls City's $14.06.
