Natural Gas Service Providers and
Their Prices in Nebraska


In 2002, the residential sector paid an average of $6.18 per thousand cubic feet for natural gas, the commercial sector paid $5.11, the industrial sector paid $4.25, and the electric utility sector paid $4.17.

The state's natural gas was supplied by 20 companies whose average 2002 residential rates ranged from Hastings Utilities' $5.15 to Kinder Morgan's $9.94 per thousand cubic feet.  Commercial rates ranged from the Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha's $4.37 to the City of Falls City's $12.95.  Rates for natural gas used by electric utilities ranged from the Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha's $3.49 to Stuart Gas Co.'s $6.97.  Industrial rates ranged from the City of Wisner's $3.75 to the City of Stromsburg's $8.00.
