The purpose of the Primer was to provide information required to make a decision on whether or not to build an energy efficient passive solar heated home. The book was designed for architects, engineers, builders, contractors, and homeowners on a number of possible variations for energy conservation and passive energy techniques. Ideally, the Primer should be used as an introductory guide to stimulate new ideas and avoid construction pitfalls.
