Omaha Public Power District...
Efforts Highlighted in New Sustainability Report

In 2012 Omaha Public Power District released its Sustainability Report 2011 outlining progress in the utility's renewable energy and sustainability programs.

The Sustainability Report 2011 tells the story of how the utility is growing greener through its focus on renewable energy, environmental stewardship and energy efficiency.

One featured project is the Omaha Service Center, a model of green building design and operation. Another effort will result in significant savings: the Air Conditioning Management program goal is a 15 megawatt peak demand reduction by the end of 2012.

By the end of 2012, Omaha Public Power District could be nearly halfway toward their goal of generating 10 percent of its energy from renewable resources by 2020.
