Energy Efficient Green Building is one of the phenomena firing up the nation's residential real estate market. Much of this consumer demand is fueled by the fact that an energy efficient, green home can cost as much as 30 to 60 percent less to heat and cool than a conventional house.

But even as more contractors join the green movement, potential purchasers of energy efficient homes are finding that it isn't always easy to get them appropriately appraised and financed.

This introductory level course will help you gain a better understanding of the basics of green building and the relevance of sustainable construction and design.  This course will provide:

You will understand reporting issues related to green properties, including avoiding misrepresentation, and become aware of green MLS initiatives and energy-efficient mortgage products.  This course gets to the nuts and bolts of this important issue in real property appraisal.
